Why are these soldiers happy? They asked (and received) a huge shipment of coffee courtesy of Starbucks.

You can help too.  Please contribute to the 24/7 Donation Trunk to the right side of the church in the parking lot under the bright Soldiers Care Packages sign.

The First Baptist Church of Hingham responds to needs .... and our Care Package Program sent to deployed US Soldiers in the Middle East is one of our most important responses.

Since inception in 2005, the FBC Care Package initiative has grown fruitfully from being a congregational effort to a community supported event.  We collect donation items, package and ship them at our cost, and maintain a dedicated website (above).  To date we have shipped over 75,000 lbs.

The program is structured around "Point Leaders" who receive our packages and distribute the contents to other Soldiers in their unit.

Bring your donation items often and at your leisure. There are no schedules and we mail your donations immediately.  Drop off donations in the Donation Trunk in the parking lot to the right of the church and two doors up from the Loring Theater in Hingham Square.

If individuals prefer, financial contributions toward postage are gratefully accepted as well.  Postage costs mount up quickly.  Checks can be made out to First Baptist Church, notating "Care Package Postage" in the memo line.  If you wish to contribute online using PayPal or credit cards, go to www.SoldiersCarePackages.com.

The intent of this initiative is to continue our outreach to deployed US personnel as long as there is a war.  Despite the diverse feelings about war management, we must support and care for our Soldiers.
